Fabricator - Second Shift

Fabricator

Job Summary

  • Responsible for the fabrication of various metal parts through various processes and/or heat methods, including brazing, cutting, soldering, deburring, or other techniques.
  • Position is Second Shift which is Monday through Thursday 1:30 to 2:00 PM until 12:00 to 12:30 AM leaving a three day weekend.  Overtime may be available on Friday during first shift or Saturday mornings.

Description

  • Consults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct specified structure; develops additional sketches if needed.
  • Selects appropriate material, technique, and tool(s) for each job based on job specifications and requirements.
  • Cuts, bends, and shapes metal to required dimensions.
  • Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
  • Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
  • Performs assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
  • Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
  • Coordinates with other process owners to ensure seamless transition of the production process.
  • Uses discretion and sound judgement skills to make independent, task-specific decisions.
  • Ensures work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards.
  • Ensures proper utilization of required PPE and task-specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others.    
  • Maintains a safe, clean and orderly workspace.
  • Follows all company and job-specific safety rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, such as operating a machine or other related tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Ability to complete fabrication projects with accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently with little to no direct oversight or supervision.
  • Demonstrated use of discretion and sound judgement skills to make task-specific decisions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to demonstrate required proficiency level/competency to successfully perform job.
